I am currently out of network with all health insurance companies. Each insurance company covers massage at different rates. Navigating all the various rules and having to fight for reimbursement for services already rendered takes time away from patient care.
Every client, will receive a reciept via email from my payment processor, Square. You may submit this receipt for reimbursement. I am happy to submit chart notes if your insurance carrier requests them.
Some questions you may want to ask your insurance carrier include:
1. Is a physicians referral for massage needed? This is often needed so that I can add the appropriate codes to your receipt.
2. Do you have out of network massage benefits? Often massage falls under the physical therapy portion of your benefits so be sure to ask about that too.
3. How many units of massage are covered? Some health plans pay for 2, 4 or 6 at a time.
4. How many sessions are covered?
If you know you will be submitting the receipt for reimbursement, it is best to submit your physicians referral before booking so I can add the necessary codes to your receipt. It's not mandatory but it can make the process easier for you.
